SUPERVISORY BOARD OF EESTI MOBIILTELEFON APPOINTS NEW CEO

 

The Council of the Estonian Mobile Telephone Company (EMT) 

appointed Peep Aaviksoo as new Chairman of the Board, who will 

start on May 1, 1999.

 

Peep Aaviksoo (42) has graduated from Tartu University in 1980 

and Estonian Business School in 1993. Aaviksoo holds MBA 

degree.

 

Peep Aaviksoo was preferred because of his long-term experience 

as a top executive in several companies. In 1994-1996 Aaviksoo 

was the Director of Development and Marketing of Estonian 

Lottery Ltd. In 1996-1998 he worked as the President and CEO of 

Norma Ltd. Since the beginning of 1999 he was employed as the 

Advisor in Estonian Telekom Ltd.

 

The Council of the EMT approved the resignation of the current 

Chairman of the Board Mr. Tõnu Tee on March 18, 1999. Tõnu Tee 

will keep his position up to April 30, 1999.
